‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Director Explains What To Expect From The Game’s Final DLC, Available Today
With two story-expanding DLC packs previously released for Dragon Age: Inquisition, BioWare is wrapping up the game’s narrative with the game’s third add-on. Telling the events of what transpired after Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s story ended, the “Trespasser” DLC will allow fans to see what has happened in Thedas two years later.
Not available on the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, Bioware announced on Twitter that the final DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition released today only on current-gen platforms.

Explaining how “Trespasser” is different from any of the studios’ previous DLC packs, Dragon Age: Inquisition creative director Mike Laidlaw spoke with Game Informer about the new story add-on. While BioWare has created plenty of story-based DLC releases in the past, Laidlaw revealed that Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s last add-on is the first time the team has made a DLC that takes place after the primary storyline has concluded.
“It’s a bit of an experiment on our part. It’s something we haven’t done before – we’re producing an epilogue. Like, an actual ‘after the game is done, restricted to players who have finished the game’ beat that explores something that has always been fascinating to me: the adventure after. What’s it like being in an organization built to save the world after the world has ostensibly been saved?”
As a result, Dragon Age: Inquisition fans will get a chance to see how the world has reaction to their actions. Furthermore, players will see the choices they made in the base game bear real consequence. For example, Laidlaw confirmed that previous decisions could affect whether certain characters return in “Trespasser.”
“For several of the characters, depending on where you took them with their personal plots, they may or may not appear at all. One that leaps to mind: If you didn’t really dig into Cole’s personality – if he remained a cipher – then he won’t appear in this. He won’t have that connection that would draw him back to the Inquisitor two years later.”
While BioWare has not yet specified if publisher EA has green lit a fourth installment to the series, Laidlaw explained that the new Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC has plenty of hints of what may be included in future releases.
“One of the things I’ve always tried to do with Dragon Age is make sure we have our eyes cast one or two games ahead. That we have a good awareness of the kinds of stories we could tell…Again, this is all presuming we do another Dragon Age; I’m certainly not confirming that today. But I always want there to be a fertile world. I want there to be interesting mysteries, and I like to explore those.”
In addition to releasing the final add-on for Dragon Age: Inquisition, BioWare also recently released a new title update for their fantasy game. As reported by the Inquisitr, the newest patch finally allows players to change into some new outfits whenever they visit Skyhold.
