Ian Somerhalder & Nikki Reed Divorce Rumors: Couple Fighting Over Baby Plans?
Are Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed set to divorce? The hot couple are rumored to be having some marital problems less than a year after saying “I do” in a beautiful outdoor wedding.
According to Reality Today, Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder and his, wife Nikki Reed, are disagreeing on something serious: when to start having babies. Somerhalder, 36, is allegedly ready to start a family now, and with good reason. He’s at an age where he would be a younger, more active father. However, Nikki Reed, 27, isn’t keen on going through a pregnancy just yet.
Reports suggest that Nikki Reed has been trying hard to break away from her best known role as Rosalie Cullen in The Twilight Saga movies, which also starred Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, and Dakota Fanning.
“Reed is reportedly starting to establish her name in the industry and is trying to break free from the Twilight fame, and pregnancy will stop her from making this progress. Somerhalder and Reed’s baby plans seem to coincide with the former’s recent hints on social media about leaving TVD and looking forward to a better future.”
Reed is said to have joined the cast of the show Sleepy Hollow as the character of Betsy Ross. If she were to get pregnant at this point, it could jeopardize her career and her role on the series. However, many actresses have filmed roles for movies and television while pregnant and have hidden their baby bumps under loose clothing and props.
Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have done nothing but face rumors since they began dating. Most of the rumors have to do with Somerhalder’s ex-girlfriend and former Vampire Diaries co-star, Nina Dobrev. Nina and Ian dated for a couple of years and were beloved by fans until they split in 2013. Dobrev decided to leave the show after Season 6.
Movie News Guide reports that Nina Dobrev, who has seemingly moved on to movie roles, has joined the “It’s On Us” campaign, which generates awareness for sexual assault that is prevalent on college campuses. Other celebrities involved in the campaign include Zoe Saldana, Jon Hamm, and Connie Britton.
Meanwhile, as previously reported by the Inquisitr, Ian Somerhalder may soon be moving on to movie roles as well. Rumors has it he is in the running for a role in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, as a villainous character connected to Christian Grey’s past.
