Avril Lavigne And Chad Kroeger Separate: Avril Shares Lyme Disease Battle And Sings With Taylor Swift

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are separating. Avril used social media to share the decision, and Lavigne emphasized the emotional pain that she felt about the split, reported People.

And it was noticeable that Chad was not wearing his ring on the same day that his wife revealed their plan to split from each other. Kroeger and Avril had been married for two years, and Lavigne noted in her social media post that they had shared music as well as their marriage. She is 30, while he is 40.

“It is with [a] heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other.”

In addition, she thanked hers and Kroeger’s friends, fans, and family for their support.

Avril and her husband have suffered through separate health battles. Lavigne revealed that she had been struggling to cope with Lyme disease. And for Chad, vocal cord surgery took its toll.

Kroeger and Avril wed in Canada. Lavigne worked with the rocker on an album, and that was how she met Chad, who was her second husband. Just like Kroeger, Avril’s first husband also was a singer, Deryck Whibley.

But for Lavigne, recently it has been Lyme disease that has dominated her life, reported ABC News. Avril had to rest and take antibiotics, and expressed gratitude that she could recover.

“I’m just really grateful to know that, like, I will make [a] 100 percent recovery,” said Lavigne.

It was attempting to get diagnosed that was the challenge, however, she added.

Avril revealed that some specialists diagnosed chronic fatigue syndrome while others thought she was depressed. Her symptoms included night sweats and flu-like sensations. Once she was diagnosed, Lavigne was able to start the journey to recovery, and now wants to send a message to others.

“There is hope. Lyme disease does exist. And you can get better,” emphasized the singer. “I’m so excited for life after this.”

Among her triumphs after Lyme disease are singing “Fly” at the Special Olympics World Games and joining Taylor Swift.

But just as with her breakup from Chad, Avril’s relationship with Taylor is complicated, reported E! News.

Swift was singing in San Diego when she was joined by Lavigne to sing “Complicated.” Although some intrigue took place on social media, Taylor made it clear that the two are pals now.

“We’ve been texting all week and we finally got to meet today and she’s so cool,” declared Swift. “She’s so sweet, which I love, when I find out that one of my favorite artists is also super amazing as a person.”
