Bindi Irwin Impresses Derek Hough With Positive Energy, Says Everyone Should Have A Bindi

Bindi Irwin has her dancing shoes on and will be busting some moves with pro partner Derek Hough on Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars. In fact, they have already been practicing in the dance studio, and it sounds like this couple is getting along just perfectly. People posted that Derek was pretty happy about having the Australian teen for his partner.

The new cast of DWTS was revealed on Good Morning America a few days ago, along with the pro partners the celebrities would be dancing with. Bindi was paired up with Hough, and they looked so cute together. It may be that the young wildlife educator will bring a little spark and positivity into Derek Hough’s life. In fact, it looks like she already has, as he describes how he feels about his partner in the short time that they have known each other.

“I’m in this space right now where I’m super pumped on life right now. I feel connected. I feel great. And then she walks in my life. You don’t understand what positive energy she is.”

Bindi Irwin was so excited to be asked to do the show. She is taking a bit of a break from taking care of wild animals and is trading her khakis for sparkling gowns and high heels. She also mentioned last week during the reveal on GMA that whoever she gets as a partner that hopefully he loves animals. She has already been seen with a snake wrapped around her neck in a promo. This nature girl has impressed Derek so far and he had nothing but good things to say about her.

“I’m trying to figure out what it is. I just got off a vacation on a lake, and I was thinking maybe it’s because she’s connected to nature and the animals or something. And if you’re that connected, you feel whole I guess. I don’t know what it is. I love her. She’s amazing. She’s a breath of fresh air. We all need a little Bindi in our life. Seriously.”

Just Jared Jr. posted a few photos of Bindi and Derek as they are getting ready for their first dance on the ballroom floor coming up very soon. They are seen laughing and having a good time as he teaches Irwin to keep her back straight and where to place her arms.

It looks to be a good season with some familiar faces and some stars that viewers will end up getting to know a little bit better. With Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough leading the pack, Season 21 is about to get very competitive.

Dancing with the Stars premieres on September 14 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
