‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Free Public Beta Will Get Access To Multiplayer Content
Star Wars: Battlefront joins the number of games offering beta before its official release date, but what’s different with Star Wars: Battlefront is that it’s letting players access the beta for free, no conditions whatsoever.
Star Wars: Battlefront publisher Electronic Arts announced Tuesday that the Star Wars: Battlefront beta will release a month before Star Wars: Battlefront’s official commercial release. At the official Star Wars: Battlefront website, EA announced the following.
“Coming early October to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on Origin for PC, the Star Wars Battlefront Beta is a technical test and will feature Walker Assault on Hoth, a 40-player multiplayer battle featuring Rebels and the Empire. Walker Assault will also give you the chance to play as two of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe: Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. The Star Wars: Battlefront Beta will also feature our Survival Mission on Tatooine, where you and a Rebel friend must fight back waves of Imperial forces.
This means that the Star Wars: Battlefront beta will be available for everyone on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC console, free of charge! Just download the Battlefront beta and you’re good to go.
We Got This Covered reports that the Battlefront beta will be placing the Walker Assault mode on center, with players spending most of their Battlefront beta playtime on the icy planet of Hoth. But of course, nothing beats the thrill of playing Battlefront as either Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader, two of the most popular characters in the Star Wars canon.
Another interesting gameplay aspect of the Star Wars: Battlefront is the Survival Mission, where the players gets to be a rebel tasked to survive the waves of Imperial forces. Fifteen waves of Stormtroopers, AT-STs, and more will stand between you and victory. What’s interesting with the Battlefront Survival mode is that it is playable with a friend, on split-screen or online. Released at E3 2015, this Survival mode will be available during the Battlefront beta.
EA and DICE also confirm that Star Wars: Battlefront will also feature a new game mode, the Drop Zone. No details have been disclosed about the new Battlefront game mode, but EA hints that more information will be released in the weeks prior to the Battlefront beta release.
Star Wars: Battlefront developer DICE has yet to reveal a specific date for the Battlefront beta release, but from what we know, early October is EA’s target date. Star Wars: Battlefront will officially hit PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles in North America and Brazil on November 17, in Australia on November 19, and in Europe on November 20.
