Ben Higgins Talks ‘The Bachelor’ 2016 Season: What Made Him Say Yes And What Does He Look For In A Woman?
Ben Higgins is ABC’s The Bachelor 2016 lead, and the network has finally made the choice official. Reality Steve’s spoilers dished out the scoop regarding the decision a while back, but now Higgins is able to talk about the fact that he will indeed be handing out roses this winter. What does he have to say about tackling the gig?
The new Bachelor star stopped by Good Morning America after the big announcement. Ben Higgins says he didn’t necessarily have any hesitations about taking on the gig, though he did take a couple of days to weigh the potential pros and cons. Ben adds that this is the kind of opportunity that doesn’t happen to people like him, and he felt that he had to go ahead and do it.
Bachelorette fans know that Ben was always very supportive of Kaitlyn Bristowe throughout the spring season, despite his being sent home after the overnight dates. From the sounds of things, Ben thinks that this will provide him a good starting point for tackling his own season. Higgins admits that dating 25 different women at the same time is what he’s probably most nervous about, but he seems pretty excited, as well.
As has happened in some prior seasons as well, notably with both Sean Lowe and Chris Soules, Higgins is already facing some criticism from Bachelor fans that he’s too boring to lead a season on his own. From the looks of things, Ben isn’t going to let this shake him up at all. When he caught up to one person on Twitter predicting it would be a boring season, Higgins didn’t hesitate to comment.
Ben wrote as follows.
“Come on, we can’t let that happen! My story may not be the most dramatic but that doesn’t mean it will be boring… Promise you will watch with an open mind, this is real and I am excited to share it with you all.”
While there are a fair number of Bachelorette fans who wanted to see Nick Viall get the gig, a lot of Bachelor fans are giddy with excitement over seeing Higgins in the role. Ben may have gotten off to something of a slow start on Bristowe’s season, but he most certainly made an impact as the season continued, and he was a big hit at the “Men Tell All” special.
Naturally, Higgins was asked what he’s looking for in his future wife. Ben says he is looking for communication and compassion, and he wants someone to live life together alongside him. The GMA ladies were certainly swooning over Ben on the set Tuesday morning, and many Bachelor fans have been swooning, as well.
ABC’s The Bachelor 2016 season featuring Ben Higgins should start filming around the middle of September. Reality Steve’s spoilers will once again be breaking down the scoop as things progress, and this next season will premiere in January, 2016.
Will Bachelor Ben Higgins find the love of his life this winter on the new season? Fans hope so, and they can’t wait to watch.
