WWE News: Wrestling Legend Sting Set To Return To ‘WWE RAW’ Tonight
Wrestling Legend and now WWE Superstar Sting has done it all in pro-wrestling. He finally had his first match with WWE and his first WrestleMania appearance at the same time that he faced Triple H on the grandest stage of them all about five months ago. Sting may have lost, but that didn’t somehow mean that he was done wrestling just yet. It appears WWE wants to bring Sting back for at least one more match, but he very well could have more than that.
According to PWInsider, Sting reportedly was flown back to New York today. He was recently at the Wizard World Comic-Con on Saturday after appearing for WWE in New York earlier in the week. WWE would rarely spend the money to bring a person into a town when they had no use for them. This means that there is a pretty good chance that we could see Sting make his return to WWE RAW tonight.
At last word, there was a plan of him wrestling Bray Wyatt potentially at WrestleMania 32. The idea was originally supposed to be that Sting would team with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to face off with the Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper, Bray Wyatt, and Erick Rowan in a six-man tag team match at WWE SummerSlam. Sadly, the injury to Rowan killed off plans for Sting to wrestle at SummerSlam, and WWE just went ahead with a regular tag team match with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose facing Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.
Rowan is expected to be cleared to return to the ring relatively soon if he has not already been. This is key, as it is said that Rowan’s return would put him right back in the Wyatt Family. There is a rumor going around that the original six man-tag team match could very well go down at WWE Night of Champions in September. This is quite possible with Rowan expected back. Sting would also be able to work with The Wyatt’s which would allow him to get involved in a rivalry with Bray Wyatt himself.
This would be helpful in building up a one on one match for them at WrestleMania 32. If WWE goes with another match over this, it uncertain who Sting would face at WrestleMania. However, many would like to see him face The Undertaker. Sadly with the controversial ending to The Undertaker/Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, it seems that Undertaker will face Lesnar in the rubber match at WrestleMania.
This hurts Sting, as it looks to be Wyatt or bust. With Wyatt working with the likes of John Cena and The Undertaker at recent WrestleMania’s, one would imagine that WWE would be fine with having him work with Sting. Plus their gimmicks work well together, which makes this potential rivalry a lot of fun. The only thing that seems to be concrete as of this writing is that Sting is supposed to appear on WWE RAW tonight. Whatever comes of this is up in the air.
