‘Bachelor’ Ben Higgins Slept With Kaitlyn Bristowe, Per Reality Steve, Why Didn’t She Kiss And Tell?
The next Bachelor will be introduced on After Paradise on Monday night, with E! Online confirming that Ben Higgins will be meeting 25 girls when the show’s 20th season airs in January.
Ben was a fan favorite during Kaitlyn Bristowe’s controversial season of the Bachelorette with viewers falling for his boyish good looks and calm demeanor. However, he may not have been as wholesome as he appeared on TV, with Reality Steve revealing that Ben slept with Kaitlyn during the show shortly before she sent him home.
Fans who watched the Bachelorette will recall Ben spent the night with Kaitlyn in the Fantasy Suite, the place where everyone assumes the lead and her guy of the hour sleep together. She sent him packing the morning after their overnight date that included a conversation that included Kaitlyn questioning his virginity and Ben talking about being unloveable.
Throughout Kaitlyn’s season, the emphasis was on the Bachelorette having sex with Nick Viall during a one-on-one date that occurred weeks before the Fantasy Suite dates. While there were hints that Kaitlyn may have hooked up with her now-fiance Shawn Booth early on in the show, and speculation that she slept with all three guys during her overnight, the show’s producers put emphasis on her hotel room romp with Viall.
Why didn’t the folks at ABC call out Kaitlyn for sleeping with all three men — was sex with Nick a bigger ratings boost? Now that fans are hours away from finding out if the rumors are true and Ben is the next Bachelor, it makes sense that they didn’t want to tarnish his image and reveal that he had sex with Kaitlyn. It’s possible that the network wanted him to take on the role of the clean-cut Bachelor, much like the one of his predecessors, self-proclaimed born again virgin Sean Lowe.
While Reality Steve‘s claim that Ben had sex with Kaitlyn is impossible to confirm, his spoilers were spot-on all season, so there is little doubt that there was a lot more going on in the Fantasy Suite than a deep, soul-searching conversation about the future.
There is speculation that Nick Viall wasn’t picked as the next Bachelor because he has a history of controversy on both Kaitlyn’s season and Andi Dorfman’s season of the Bachelorette. However, what if producers placed cameras outside of the Fantasy Suite during Ben and Kaitlyn’s overnight date — would that have changed Ben’s image and made him less worth of taking on the role of the Bachelor?
Watch the live After Paradise show at 9 p.m. ET on ABC to find out if Ben Higgins is the next Bachelor.
