Bever Family Murder: Brothers’ YouTube Account Surfaces, May Have Videoed Stabbing [Video]
The Bever family was brutally murdered in their home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The prime suspects in the case are the family’s two oldest teen sons, Robert and Michael Bever. The murderous duo were implicated in the crime after their 13-year-old sister, who was brutally stabbed and left for dead, identified them as the attackers. New evidence shows that the Bever brothers maintained a YouTube channel and may have set up cameras to capture the brutal stabbing of their family on video.
The Tulsa World reports that 18-year-old Robert Bever operated a YouTube account called ColtEmpireOfficial in which he setup a “vlog” to talk about gaming, his latest hairstyle, and to produce skits with his younger brother Michael. The last video uploaded to the account features both Robert and Michael Bever in a skit. The skit seems to reference the horror flick The Shining numerous times as Robert can be seen peeking around the corner with a “Here’s Johnny” expression. However, the video has no verbal audio and is instead dubbed over with music.
The reports also indicate that the Bever brothers may have filmed the brutal murder of their family. Police reports note that “live footage recordings,” along with audio recordings and photos, were listed as possible items that could be found on the thumb drive or one of the recovered computers. It was also noted that video equipment was noted in “close proximity” to the bodies of three of the deceased by responding police officers.
“Video surveillance cameras inside the home were ‘in close proximity’ to where three of the bodies were found and said it appeared that the cameras were connected to at least one of the seized computers.”
The police have yet to confirm if the cameras were activated at the time of the murder or if the videos contain any recordings of the Bever brothers carrying out the attack on their family. However, police and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation say they are looking into the Bever brothers’ social media accounts, website search history, and email for further clues.
The terrifying murder left the community of Broken Arrow in shock. Police were notified of the murder at the Bevers’ home about 11:30 p.m. July 22 after receiving a 911 call from one of the children, believed to be 12-year-old Daniel Bever, who said “someone was attacking their family.” When officers arrived to the scene, they found young Daniel dead from multiple stab wounds along with David Bever, 52; April Bever, 41; Christopher Bever, 7; and Victoria Bever, 5. All died from “multiple sharp force injuries.” Survivors in the home included the Bever brothers 13-year-old sister was also stabbed but survived, the killers’ 2-year-old sister who was found unharmed in an upstairs room.
The case is currently still under investigation and police say they have no motive for the killings at this time.
