‘The Vampire Diaries’ Spoilers: Damon’s New Love And Timeline For Season 7 Teased
The Vampire Diaries is getting ready for Season 7 on CW, and fans are being given new inside scoop on the season ahead. Julie Plec has not held back on the hints about the upcoming season, and she dropped some more to Entertainment Weekly.
Fans already know that The Vampire Diaries Season 7 will involve a jump in time after the end of Season 7. Elena Gilbert is asleep in her coffin while her friends and lover live their lives outside in the real world. However, that world will go through many changes. The demise of Mystic Falls has already been teased.
According to Julie Plec, the upcoming season will take place in two different time lines.
“Well, time is relative this year since TVD will basically be telling stories in two different timelines that run simultaneously. ‘We’re actually picking up all over the place,’ executive producer Julie Plec tells me. ‘We’re picking up a little bit in the future, we’re picking up a lot in the future, we’re doing a little bit of a time shuffle as we launch into the season. One timeline is set very much in the future and the other timeline will catch us up to the events of the final scene of last season.'”
It does sound confusing, but it does sound like the season will need both timelines to explain the place where Damon and Stefan end up in the furthest timeline.
Damon will not have a new love interest during The Vampire Diaries Season 7, but he will have love. The season will focus on Stefan and Damon’s relationship. The two brothers have always had something in between them that made it difficult for them to be brothers. Whether it be an evil villain’s actions or another woman.
This season, the Salvatore brothers will have the chance to work on their relationship. They will still have a villain to fight, but Season 7’s villain is their mother. Lily will cause problems for her sons.
According to Zap2It, Caroline Dries teased the twisted love triangle at the center of the action this season.
“We were like, ‘How do we replace Elena in the triangle between the brothers?’ And what kind of naturally happened is Lily is the third point in the triangle. They each love her and hate her in a different way, so she’s more of the Katherine. They have different feelings towards her, and she’s able to manipulate them and love them differently. She was trying to basically turn them against each other, but they’re like, ‘You know what? I’ve been brothers with him a long time, so I think I’m going to side with my bro.’ The love story this season is the brothers, so they’ll get the most screen time.”
What do you think of the new direction for The Vampire Diaries Season 7? The series will return to CW on October 8.
