‘Law & Order SVU’ Back To Work On Season 17: What Is Next For The SVU Team?
Law & Order SVU Season 17 will premiere on NBC this fall, and the cast is now back to work filming new episodes. Ice-T shared a photo from the set on Friday, and he was standing on the Harlem set with Kelli Giddish.
The cast did begin production of Season 17 earlier this summer, and it is not known how far into Season 17 they filmed before taking their summer break.
Both Ice-T and Kelli look happy in their on-set photo, and they both have a lot to be happy about at the moment. According to a previous Inquisitr report, Kelli Giddish revealed that she is both married and pregnant. The news was a surprise to her fans.
There is no sign of a baby bump in Ice-T’s social media snap, but Kelli is wearing a loose fitting shirt.

Giddish plays Rollins on the NBC series, and there are some big things coming for her character during Season 17. Giddish teased a bit about what is next for her character to E! Online earlier this summer.
“Rollins, I think it’s so cool to really see her get enveloped by a case and maybe a subject. I think maybe you’ll see her become a little obsessed with that. The beginning of next season is so great. We’re in the midst of production of season 17 now, we’re dealing with transgender already, you know. They’re on top of things as always.”
The upcoming season will also see the appearance of Rollins’ sister and mother, and their arrival will not be a good thing, according to Law & Order SVU showrunner Warren Leight. Enstarz shared his comments from a recent interview.
He said, “Even if their intent is to be supportive, and I’m not even sure it is, her family showing up is not a great thing for her — nothing good comes from seeing her sister or her mother.”
The premiere of Season 17 is a special two-hour event, and it will take a well-known case straight from the media. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the series will take on the Robert Durst case for the premiere of Law & Order SVU. The premiere will also bring back Dallas Roberts as Greg Yates. He played a major role in the last big crossover event between Law & Order SVU and Chicago PD.
A preview has been released for the premiere, and it featured the show’s take on the high-profile case.
Spoiler TV also shared the first poster for Law & Order SVU on Friday.
