April Kauffman Murder: New Jersey Radio Host Found Dead In Home
April Kauffman was a radio host in New Jersey, known for her activism on veteran’s issues. Now, however, she is known as the woman who was murdered in her home in Linwood, New Jersey, and police are avidly searching for her killer or killers.
Kauffman, 47, was found murdered on Thursday inside her bedroom. Her cause of death has been listed as “multiple gunshot wounds,” by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The radio host was found about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, by a worker, who proceeded to call 911. April reportedly lived in the Linwood home with her physician husband.
Fox News stated that Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J.remembered Kauffman as:
“Quite simply, April was a patriot in every sense of the word and her tireless work on behalf of those who served made a real difference in the lives of many. The Atlantic County community has lost one of its most passionate voices, and she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends in this difficult time.”
CBS Philadelphia reports that fellow radio host Harry Hurley was surprised to hear of her death. He stated:
“It just leaves an empty feeling in your heart. You’ll never forget just how much she meant to the community.”
The local newspaper reported on Friday that April Kauffman’s most recent venture was helping to raise money for Army Staff Sgt. Kevin Snow. Snow was a father of five, left severely disabled after a tour in Iraq.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is handling all media questions regarding the case, and have been very secretive regarding the details of the case. At this point in time, no suspects have been named in the case.
