Jessica Simpson Expands $1 Billion Collection, Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary, Says Nothing Ever ‘Seems Like Failure’
Jessica Simpson — singer turned successful designer and business woman — has revealed that she will be expanding her successful Jessica Simpson Collection to involve active wear. It isn’t a surprise that Simpson is adding an active line to her collection, ranging in pieces already involving fashion apparel, footwear, and accessories, seeing as she’s been kicking it into high gear to maintain her fit physique. The star likely realized that quality, yet affordable, athletic wear is often hard to find. Simpson’s athleisure line is fittingly called The Warm Up, and will surely be a perfect addition to Simpson’s well-rounded collection, accompanied by affordability and tasteful designs.
Momager to Jessica, Tina Simpson, shared with WWD as to reasons for Jessica joining Kate Hudson and Carrie Underwood in providing stylish and comfortable active wear.
“Whatever was going on in Jessica’s life at the time, we said we should be there. We had been looking at active for a bit, trying to find the right partner. Jessica works out every day — pretty much an hour-and-a-half every day.”
Richard Gossett, president of RDG Global — the product’s licensee — shared with the publication that the line will first be made available at Macy’s by October, but won’t be available to all retailers until next spring. Gossett expands on what it is about Simpson’s designs that should have consumers excited.
“The character of the brand is definitely Jessica, from the prints to the colorations. She is intricately involved in the selection process.”
The range of pieces that will be available cater to everything from low key workouts to rigorous workouts, and Style News for People Magazine relays information about price points and individual product descriptions for Simpson’s new line.
“The ‘authentic workout apparel’ will include performance leggings (made with sweat-wicking materials), colorful, printed sports bras and bold statement track jackets, with prices ranging from $24 to $49, and is set to hit Macy’s shelves at the end of October.”
In addition to expanding her hugely successful collection, Simpson is celebrating her brand’s 10 year anniversary. The time has flown since Jessica sought out to take on a new endeavor and more than a decade later, she shows no signs of slowing down. In regards to Jessica’s achievements in the intense industry of fashion and branding, the star shared about her determination in the face of possible roadblocks and difficulty.
“A lot of people are afraid to listen [to their instinct] because a dream of [theirs] could be too big and it seems too big to attain. I don’t believe any dream is too big. There are always more dreams to have and I feel that if you look at life that way, nothing will ever seem like a failure.”
Congratulations, Ms. Simpson, on all of your success.
