‘Fear The Walking Dead’: Is Tobias Zombie Food Or Smart Enough To Survive The Apocalypse?
Lincoln A. Castellanos is the name of the actor in the Fear The Walking Dead trailer which shows a high school student concerned about an outbreak. Fans of The Walking Dead will know that Lincoln’s character, Tobias, is correct about his concerns. However, his guidance counselor, Madison (played by Kim Dickens) is not at all convinced the end of the world is nigh.

Lincoln A. Castellanos is a huge Walking Dead fan, so when an opportunity arose to join the cast of its companion series, Fear The Walking Dead, he jumped at the opportunity. AMC were suitably impressed with the young actor, and it took a mere four days from audition to arriving on set to start work. So, while we have seen the trailer involving Tobias, what sort of character is he? Lincoln had the following to say about Tobias when he was interviewed recently by Comic Book.
“He’s an intelligent senior. He’s got a lot going on for him prior to everything that happens. He knows he’s smart and he tries to use it to advantage despite his social shortcomings. When he sees the reports of violence spreading through the country his paranoia kicks in and he is certain, he’s sure, that something terrible is coming, so he has to protect himself in any way that he can.”
According to Lincoln, Tobias turns to social media sites such as Reddit and the darker side of the internet to find out about the impending apocalypse.
“He’s one of the ones who gets dismissed but everyone else because of how they look or what they do but thinking quickly in this show, when the apocalypse is on the verge of happening, and, in general, things move quicker, people like Tobias are the ones who are adapting the fastest.”
We know from the Fear The Walking Dead IMDb page that his character is only in a scant two episodes. So while Tobias may alert a warning about the end times early, it seems he may not be as prepared for the apocalypse as what he would like to believe. But, according to Castellanos, Tobias is one of the ones that “are adapting the fastest” when the apocalypse starts. Perhaps Tobias doesn’t die a grisly death then, but will appear later on in the series, just like Morgan did in Fear’s companion series, The Walking Dead?
Fear The Walking Dead will premiere on Sunday, August 23, 2015 on AMC.
