Riot Games announced that starting today, all of the proceeds from the sale of the character Jax and his “Jaximus” skin will go directly towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation, giving gamers the chance to pick up a new character and/or skin while giving to a worthy cause in the process.
Riot got the idea to donate proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation after 17-year-old Joe, who suffers from Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare type of cancerous bone tumor, had the opportunity to stop by the League of Legends developer’s office for a day, thanks to Make-A-Wish.
Your chance to make a contribution starts today, May 4, and lasts until 10:30 p.m. Pacific on May 18. To sweeten the deal for you even further, Riot also announced that it will be making Jax and the Jaximus skin available at 50 percent off throughout the period.
“Your purchase will help Make-A-Wish impact the lives of the thousands of kids around the world with life-threatening medical conditions through their wish experience. Since its founding in 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 280,000 wishes, and now serves children in 48 countries. Funds raised from the promotion will benefit Make-A-Wish America and Make-A-Wish International to bring hope, strength and joy to wish kids throughout the world.”
