Jimmy Snuka Cancer Battle Revealed: WWE Fans Receive More Tragic News After Piper’s Death

Jimmy Snuka has cancer. News of the wrestling legend’s cancer diagnosis made headlines on Monday after his wife shared the news with fans of the iconic wrestler. According to Us Magazine, Carole Snuka shared the update on Jimmy Snuka’s condition in an interview with Bill Apter from 1Wrestling.

Carole appeared via webcam to speak with Apter because fans wanted to know Jimmy’s reaction to “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s death. Jimmy and Roddy battled during the early days of the WWF, and one of their best remembered moments is when Piper hit Snuka in the head with a coconut in 1984.

Carole shared a statement from Snuka about the passing of Piper. The statement said, “Jimmy and I would just like to, first off, extend our heartfelt condolences to Roddy Piper’s wife, Kitty, and their four children. It was very difficult for me to tell Jimmy about the passing of his wrestling brother. But I did, and we cried together, and Jimmy reminisced about the many good times they had together… Jimmy just wants to say, ‘I love you, brother, and you will always be in my heart.'”

It was after she shared her statement about Piper that she revealed Snuka’s own health issues and his cancer fight. Bill Apter asked her about the health of Snuka because he wanted to battle any rumors out there about Snuka’s condition. He wanted the true information straight from the Snuka family.

Carole spoke candidly about Snuka’s condition. She revealed that he had just been released from the hospital on Friday.

“Jimmy’s been diagnosed with stomach cancer. They have removed the cancer, and they removed a portion of his stomach and his lymph nodes. The doctor said he did very well. They’re very happy with the outcome. [He] still has a long road ahead of him. The doctor says he’s an amazingly strong man. And we all know how strong Jimmy is. Jimmy can take a beating. He says he’s ready for this fight. And he also wants to let his fans know that he’s not done yet…He is in a struggle right now, but he’s gonna be perfectly fine. And he will be back and visiting with his fans as soon as he feels up and ready to go.”

News of Jimmy Snuka’s cancer battle is just the latest blow to the WWE community in recent weeks. Wrestling fans were just hit with the news of Roddy Piper’s death on Friday. He died in his sleep at the age of 61. Piper started his career with the WWF in 1984. During his time wrestling he battled Snuka, Hulk Hogan, and many others in the ring.

According to the Washington Post, Vince McMahon released his own statement about Piper following his death. He said that, “Roddy Piper was one of the most entertaining, controversial and bombastic performers ever in WWE, beloved by millions of fans around the world. I extend my deepest condolences to his family.”

Many wrestling superstars expressed their sadness over the passing of Roddy Piper on Twitter after the news spread on Friday. This includes Hulk Hogan, who has been dealing with his own scandal in recent weeks.

The WWE and Hulk Hogan ended their longtime relationship on July 24 after audio of Hogan saying the N-word was leaked to the media. At first, there was confusion. Some reported that the WWE fired Hogan because of the footage, but Hogan’s representative revealed that Hogan left the organization on his own. Hogan shared a statement with People Magazine about the incident, according to a previous Inquisitr report.

“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it. This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs.”

On the day the news broke, Roddy Piper was conducting an interview, and he was asked about the Hulk Hogan racism scandal. Piper immediately stood up for his friend, according to the Mirror.

“No, not the Hogan I know. No, he’s not a racist at all. He hasn’t got time to be one. There’s no time to be racist, we’re pro wrestlers. One, it’s the privacy of his own home. Two, his son was going through a really rough time. You know, he’s trying to take care of his daughter, trying to keep his family together. Do I condone it? No. But I think Hulk Hogan has done a whole lot more for the society than he has negative towards society. I’m not going to condemn my fellow hall of famer when I haven’t seen the whole nine yards. And I’ve never heard Hogan say the n-word.”

Wrestling fans have been dealing with a lot in recent weeks. In June, news broke of the death of Dusty Rhodes, another iconic wrestler from the heyday of the WWF. With Hogan’s racism scandal, Piper’s death, and now the news of Snuka’s illness, fans have been in a state of shock.

Snuka is still connected to the WWE to this day. His daughter, Tamina Snuka, is a wrestler with WWE. His battle with cancer will continue, but his wife’s statement revealed that he is on the mend. Fans have been sending Snuka get well messages on Twitter since the weekend.
