Chris Brown’s Royalty Custody Battle: Nia Guzman Doesn’t Trust Singer With Their Child
Chris Brown is being forced to fight to spend quality time with Royalty, his two-year-old daughter. The toddler’s mother, Nia Guzman, doesn’t trust Breezy to keep their little girl safe, so she’s firing shots in what could turn out to be a very ugly custody battle.
According to TMZ, Chris Brown’s baby mama wants full custody of Royalty. If Nia Guzman gets her way, this means that Breezy will only get supervised visits with his daughter. Guzman reportedly wants Brown’s time with Royalty monitored because she “fears for the safety” of the little girl whenever she spends time alone with her father. She thinks that Chris has a substance abuse problem, and it’s also possible that she’s worried about the security at the residences owned by Brown — Us Weekly reports that there have been two break-ins at two of Browns’ homes in recent months. The latest happened last month at Brown’s residence in Tarzana, California, and the armed men responsible for the robbery locked his aunt in a closet.

Even though most parents would be concerned about their children staying in homes that have been broken into, Chris Brown isn’t convinced that Nia Guzman is really worried about Royalty’s safety — he thinks that she’s using her battle for full custody to get Chris to pay more in child support. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the singer has been fighting Nia’s demand that he fork over $15,000 a month in child support. He thinks $2,500 a month is a sufficient amount for a monthly payment, and he’s filed papers to establish his paternity so that he can fight for joint custody of Royalty. He and Nia were trying to work things out without getting the court involved, but now Chris wants a judge to set up some official guidelines for child support and visitation.
According to Hollywood Life, Chris Brown is devastated that he doesn’t get to spend more time with Royalty. A source close to the singer said that Breezy “cries himself to sleep” whenever he misses out on getting to Facetime with his daughter while he’s traveling. The source said that Brown is “being deprived of being a father to his child,” and Royalty is the first thing that Brown thinks about every morning when he wakes up. Last month, Brown shared an Instagram post with his fans letting them know that he was missing his little girl.
