‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Cast On Social Media Posting Clues For Season 12

It’s easy to see how eager the cast of Grey’s Anatomy is to share bits and pieces of Season 12. They have been all over social media, especially Twitter.

As the Inquisitr reported, the name of the first episode was leaked earlier this week to the delight of fans everywhere who are still stinging from the departure of Patrick Dempsey, aka Dr. Derek Shepherd. The first episode of Season 12, “Sledgehammer,” was leaked on social media, with a photo of the call sheet for the actors.

While creator Shonda Rhimes has been fairly mum, except for saying that “Season 12 snuck up on her,” and that it feels like “the first day of school” going back to the Grey’s Anatomy set. Social media, combined with confirmations of comings and goings, have given fans a better picture of how the season will shake out. Jessica Capshaw, as Dr. Arizona Robbins, recently extended her Grey’s Anatomy contract for three years, giving hope that “Carizona” will have another chance.

“Only because they had to go through so much to make that decision to be apart, it’s so hard to think about them being together. They’re just getting to the point where that’s all good. I would feel bad if they then took steps backwards and ended up in a relationship that was super challenging,” she said, adding that she understands why fans will always root for Calzona. “Everyone longs for the beginning, I get that, you want them to go back to the beginning, but you can’t do that with anything in life.”

The biggest point of concern for fans is the possible departure of Ellen Pompeo, as Dr. Meredith Grey, the titular character of Grey’s Anatomy, as her contract expires this year. “Now, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and the entire ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ family are about to enter uncharted territory as we head into this new chapter of her life. The possibilities for what may come are endless. As Ellis Grey (Kate Burton) would say: The carousel never stops turning,” Rhimes said, adding her gratitude to the man who brought the character of Derek Shepherd to life.

As for new cast members, Martin Henderson has joined the cast as a doctor and possible love interest for Meredith Grey. Shonda Rhimes has said she is taking the summer off of social media, but even she is back to tweeting general messages to her followers.
