Ben Higgins ‘Bachelor’ Announcement Expected On ‘Bachelorette: After The Final Rose’ Special
Will Ben Higgins be announced as the next Bachelor during the Bachelorette: After The Final Rose special on Monday night? Although filming for the new season won’t start until mid-September, fans are anxious to find out if the rumors about handsome Ben H. handing out roses in 2016 are true.
Blogger Reality Steve is confident that Higgins is the guy who has been picked for the role and expects the not-so-surprising reveal will happen on the ATFR special on July 27.
Of course, host Chris Harrison has been downplaying the rumors about the Season 20 pick to keep fans buzzing about it. He recently told Reality TV World that the final decision still hasn’t been made, but he hinted that the guy who is picked will likely be one of three fan favorites from Kaitlyn’s season: Jared Haibon, Ben Zorn, and Ben Higgins.

Jared is on the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, and he is rumored to make it through at least Episode 5. That would leave him very little time to prep for his third reality show, so it doesn’t seem likely that Jared is the next Bachelor.
Ben Zorn got a big round of applause from the ladies in the Men Tell All audience, but his social media posts point to one busy guy who may not have time to devote to finding love on TV. Although he tells E! Online that he’d “consider it” if asked, the 26-year-old personal trainer states that he’d have to discuss the opportunity with his family first.

If the rumors are correct, Ben Higgins seems to have exactly what ABC wants in a Bachelor. He tells People that he’s “very single” and “hasn’t dated” since he went on the Bachelorette, making him an extremely eligible bachelor — hopefully he’s ready to have 25 ladies fight over him.
“I haven’t dated at all since the show. You don’t want to deal with that as you’re watching yourself on TV!”
The upcoming season of the Bachelor will be the network’s 20th, a milestone for the franchise. Many fans would agree that picking handsome Ben H. — who is employed, owns his own home, and seems to be a level-headed guy — would be a positive move for the networks, and a reason to celebrate 20 seasons of drama, romance, and once in awhile, a wedding.
Monday night’s After the Final Rose special airs right after Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe gives out her final rose. Tune in to the three-hour season finale to find out who Kaitlyn picks and, possibly, who the next Bachelor is.
