Beyonce Nominated For 3 VMA Awards: Will She Announce A New Album Or A Baby? [Video]

Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran swept the nominations for the MTV 2015 VMA Awards, which were announced this week. Beyonce and Ed Sheeran garnered three nominations each, including the coveted video of the year. Swift leads the pack with nine nods.

Beyonce is up for five moon men, including Video of the Year, Female Video, and Best Pop Video for “7/11.” For Video of the Year, she’s up against Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars for “Uptown Funk,” and Taylor Swift for “Bad Blood.”

Depending on the outcome of the night, Beyonce might be the singer with the most VMA awards ever. She’s currently outranked by only Madonna, who has just one more VMA than Beyonce – and the 2015 awards might be the tipping point. Madonna was snubbed in this year’s nominations – a fact that has been blowing up social media since they were announced, reports MTV.

This year’s VMA Awards is hosted by Miley Cyrus, who made the announcement over Instagram. Cyrus is clearly excited to be on the same stage as Beyonce, based on an Instagram snap in which she’s wearing a green alien outfit and a sign that reads: “MTV won’t let me perform, so I’m hosting this year’s VMAs.” Cyrus is referring to her controversial 2013 performance to “Blurred Lines.”

But whether Beyonce, Ed, or any other singer wins, it doesn’t matter, reports CNN, since most fans tune into the VMA Awards for the performances.

Last year, Beyonce was the purported queen of the VMA, reports Entertainment Weekly. Beyonce performed a 17-minute mash-up of songs from her self-titled album – and brought her family, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy, after Beyonce “burst into tears as she accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” reports MTV.

Rumors have been flying about a joint album between Beyonce and Jay-Z, and MTV speculated on their website that the duo might use the VMA awards to announce the due date of the album, although Beyonce and Jay-Z themselves have yet to confirm any information.

MTV has also sent the rumor mill flying since they suggested this year’s MTV VMA awards might be a platform for Beyonce to announce a new pregnancy. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Beyonce has been spotted wearing loose fitting clothing and covering her belly – signs she might possibly be pregnant.

Beyonce famously revealed she was pregnant with Blue Ivy at the 2011 MTV VMA awards, so another announcement isn’t impossible.
