Sandra Fluke Engaged To Long-Time Boyfriend Adam Mutterperl

Sandra Fluke and long-time boyfriend Adam Mutterperl announced their engagement in an exclusive report to The Daily Beast. The couple, who have been dating for eight years, state:

“Having dated for over eight years, we’re just excited that our friends and family were kind enough to pretend to be surprised at our engagement. We’re really looking forward to spending the next eight years planning our wedding.”

Fluke originally made headlines in February when Rush Limbaugh called her a “slut” for advocating birth control coverage in health insurance. The two are still going head-to-head over political issues, the most recent being about student loans.

Limbaugh’s comment came after Sandra Fluke advocated for covered birth control, after a friend of her’s had surgery to remove a cyst from her ovaries. She made the argument that a woman has the right to birth control, as it helps prevent health issues for women.

When Bill O’Reilly found out in March that Fluke and Mutterperl were dating, he was quick to note that Mutterperl’s father is a huge donor to the Democratic party. This connection may contribute to Limbaugh’s latest remark that Sandra Fluke is “coordinating” with President Obama to “scare students about the interest rates on their loans.”

O’Reilly commented about Fluke, saying:

“For six days, we have been telling you that the 30-year-old Georgetown law student has become a major player in the presidential election. Last night, we reported that she is now being handled pro bono, for free, by the PR firm SKDKnickerbocker, which is good, because Sandra doesn’t have enough money to buy birth control pills, as we know. But there is more to Sandra’s story than just contraception. Right now, she’s on spring break in California with her boyfriend, who is the son of Democratic stalwart William Mutterperl. He has made at least 56 donations to Democratic candidates or organizations. Nothing wrong with that — I’m just pointing it out.”

Sandra Fluke is also noted as one of the leading causes for the so-called Republican “war on women,” including Limbaugh’s comments about Fluke and Texas’s loss of its Women’s Health Program.
