David Kellermann, Freddie Mac’s acting chief financial officer, has been found dead in his home outside of Washington. Kellermann’s wife believes he committed suicide, reports indicate.

David Kellermann, 41, had been with Freddie Mac since 1992. He was promoted from the position controller, in which he managed financial statements and disclosures, to acting CFO following the government’s takeover of the company in September.
David Kellermann’s body was found at 4:48 a.m. in his Reston, Virginia home on Wednesday. According to media reports, there are no signs of any sort of foul play. An official cause of death, however, has not been determined.
Freddie Mac has yet to issue a comment about Kellermann’s death.
