Kristen Stewart Opens Up About Cheating On Robert Pattinson With Rupert Sanders?
Kristen Stewart may have made headlines in 2012 for her affair with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, however, after Stewart gets candid about her “traumatic” early 20s in an interview with Marie Claire, reports are suggesting that Stewart is finally opening up about the cheating scandal that plagued her relationship with Robert Pattinson.
Snippets of Stewart’s August 2015 interview with the magazine released early Monday morning in which Kristen opens up about her “debilitating” teen years, telling the mag that she suffered from severe anxiety to the point of making herself sick.
“On her success at a young age: ‘Between ages 15 and 20, it was really intense. I was constantly anxious. I was kind of a control freak. If I didn’t know how something was going to turn out, I would make myself ill, or just be locked up or inhibited in a way that was really debilitating.'”
In addition, Stewart gets candid about her “traumatic” early 20s.
“On her past and moving forward: ‘I lit my universe on fire and I watched it burn. Speaking very candidly, it was a really traumatic period in my early 20s that kick-started something in me that was a bit more feral.'”
Within hours of the story appearing online, several outlets began tying Stewart’s comments to her affair with Sanders nearly three years ago, with some claiming that this is the first time Stewart has opened up about her affair with the director since splitting from boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
However, Gossip Cop reports that outlets like Daily Mail and Celebuzz began running headlines that suggested Stewart’s comments about her “traumatic early 20s” was a direct nod to her affair with Sanders, however, the site points out that Kristen never mentioned anything related to the cheating scandal or her split from Robert Pattinson.
One article explains that Stewart didn’t allow her affair with Sanders to destroy her career, using Stewart’s quote, “I lit my universe on fire and I watched it burn” as an indication that she was speaking about the cheating scandal.
“With the scandal–and the ensuing dissolution of both Kristen and Rupert’s relationships–were tabloid fodder for months, the actress claims now that she didn’t let the incident destroy her. After pulling back from the spotlight for a while, she says that these days she can more easily find perspective.”
While Stewart may have opened up about a traumatic experience that occurred in her early 20s, there’s no real indication that Kristen was actually speaking on her affair with Sanders, her time in the Twilight franchise or her breakup from Robert Pattinson.
Gossip Cop notes that Stewart’s quotes were misrepresented and should only be left open for fans to interpret for themselves.
