Norman Reedus Jokes About Death Of Glenn And Michonne, Says He’s Kissed Everyone On ‘Walking Dead’ Set
Norman Reedus gave Walking Dead fans something to fear during San Diego Comic-Con. The man behind Daryl Dixon’s greasy, side-swept bangs teased worried Walking Dead watchers by making a very mean joke about the fates of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Michonne (Danai Gurira).
MTV News asked the cast members of The Walking Dead to reveal which deceased characters they’d love to bring back from the dead, and Bethyl shippers who once tried to convince themselves that shots to the head are survivable will be very disappointed to know that Norman Reedus didn’t give a shout-out to Emily Kinney. Instead, the jokester said that he would like to bring back Glenn and Michonne (Danai Gurira). As Walking Dead fans know, Glenn and Michonne were very much alive at the end of Season 5.
Norman’s cruel comment might make a few Walking Dead fans worry about the safety of these beloved characters during Season 6 of the show. After all, Rick is on a rampage, and he probably won’t chill out until his actions get one of his family members killed.
In case you can’t tell, that’s Norman Reedus lying in Melissa McBride’s lap and doing his best to hide from the camera in the video below. He was probably all tuckered out after taking countless selfies with excited Comic-Con fans.
As you can see, Norman’s castmates come up with answers that are a bit more thoughtful. Steven Yeun says that he really misses Hershel (Scott Wilson) and Dale (Jeffrey McDunn), and he thinks that Walking Dead fans really missed out by hearing so little of the excellent life advice that his old RV buddy loved to dish out. Sonequa Martin-Green is upset that Shane (Jon Bernthal) is gone, and it sounds like she probably would’ve pushed for Sasha to hook up with Lori’s other lover. Sonequa doesn’t seem to be a huge Lori fan at all, but Andrew Lincoln thinks that Walking Dead fans didn’t get to see enough of the show’s deadly love triangle.
Norman Reedus was being a bit naughty by joking about The Walking Dead killing off his costars’ characters, but he’s usually a very loving guy. During his Comic-Con interview with Refinery 29, the actor claimed that he bonded with his coworkers by swapping spit with all of them.
“I’ve kissed everyone on our set,” Reedus boasted.
It’s possible that the actor was just joking around again, but the Inquisitr did recently share video evidence that Norman has kissed Danai Gurira on the set of The Walking Dead.
“Dixonne” shippers will rejoice if Norman and Danai’s characters hook up on the show, but this pairing would upset two very important people. Norman has stated that his mother wants Daryl Dixon to settle down with Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), and Andrew Lincoln recently revealed that his mom is on Team “Richonne.”
“My mom is desperate for Rick and Michonne to get together,” Lincoln said during The Walking Dead Comic-Con panel, according to the Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Norman Reedus seems interested in the idea of Walking Dead characters having multiple sex partners — he’s just not sure if fans would have a positive reaction to everyone getting it on with each other.
“It’s really fascinating how people wanna put people together and couples and ‘ships and ‘ship wars, and the levels of hostility they throw at each other in that battle,” Reedus said. “If that was a one-night stand, would someone hate us? If there was a ménage à trois, would the world explode?”
Unfortunately for Norman Reedus, having Daryl Dixon hook up with every female character on the show probably wouldn’t put an end to the crazy “ship wars.”
