Brand New ‘The Walking Dead’ Images Released For San Diego Comic-Con 2015
San Diego Comic-Con is the place to be this week if you want all the news on AMC’s The Walking Dead. Ahead of the Walking Dead panel on Friday, July 10, AMC have released some exciting new Season 6 images to whet fans’ appetites.
First off we have the following three images that will grace the San Diego Convention Center during Comic-Con. The three images are very similar and show Walking Dead main characters, Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) alongside show favorite but rarely seen Morgan (Lennie James). All of the images show the Walking Dead characters leaning up against a thin wall with a walker on the other side trying to get in.
It is likely these images may just be stylized promo stills designed to conjure up fear for our favorite Walking Dead characters. Each character shows quiet determination on their faces, yet blended in nicely is just a hint of concern for their predicament. And if these images are not stylized, then fans can worry like crazy over why these three characters are stuck behind such a thin wall and why they seem to be separated from each other rather than fighting together in a group.
Although, perhaps that is the point.
Perhaps AMC are trying to show the divide between the three characters. After all, they all have vastly different opinions at the moment. Rick is tainted by Terminus and wants to keep moving rather than trust another group again. Michonne just wants to give up her warrior lifestyle and settle down for a while. Morgan, on the other hand, has just seen Rick kill a man in the Season 5 finale of The Walking Dead and may have a lot to say to Rick about that in Season 6.
The final image is one released via Entertainment Weekly and matches the feel of the images they released previously featuring Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). This image features Rick Grimes out of the police uniform issued to him in Season 5 of The Walking Dead. He is getting out of (or into) a truck and is in front of street signs with his face still injured after his epic battle with Pete in Season 5. While these street signs could be for roads within Alexandria, it is just as likely Rick is outside Alexandria. He appears to be looking for something — or someone. Walkers or Wolves? Although, as EW points out, the street signs could represent Rick being at a crossroads in his life. Only tuning into Season 6 of AMC’s The Walking Dead will reveal all!
