New iPhone 6S Plus Rumors Leaked Us The Screen Size, Memory, And Camera Specs [Photo]

The new iPhone 6S release date is not even close, but already you can see photos proving what the new iPhone 6S screen size will be. Unfortunately, those hoping for six inches or more may have to wait for the iPhone 7 release date, since the iPhone 6S rumors are disappointing in that regard.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, the iPhone 6S memory may be provided by Samsung.

Pretty much everything we know about the iPhone 6S specs is limited to rumors, but a recent leaked photo of the new iPhone 6S confirms at least some of them. 9 To 5 Mac managed to get hold of the externals of a iPhone 6S case based upon a “proven source familiar with Apple’s supply chain.” While it does not provide all of the iPhone 6S specs, it certainly tells us one thing for certain.

iPhone 6S Screen Size And Case Design

The new iPhone 6S display is almost exactly the same as the old iPhone 6 screen, based upon the case design. The Space Gray coloring remains almost the same, although it is noted this could change by time the iPhone 6S release date is here. The “source says that any potential difference in thickness or width on the 4.7-inch iPhone 6-sized device is too minimal to notice, but this does not (yet) rule out rumored changes to the larger, 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus body.”

The similarity in case size also means the rumors about a larger battery capacity are also unlikely. The good news is that the power efficiency of the new Apple A9 CPU is supposed to be better, and the the addition of Qualcomm’s higher-end LTE chip should also enhance the device’s battery life.

These photos also do not mean the introduction of the iPhone Force Touch feature will be pushed off until the iPhone 7 release date, since the display itself should integrate the new tech.

iPhone 6S Camera Design

One of the more interesting iPhone 6S rumors was the idea of a dual-lens camera system. Unfortunately, this idea seems unlikely since the case has “identical holes for camera, microphone, and LED flash. This doesn’t rule out the possibility that the camera lens won’t protrude on the new model, but two distinct lenses appear to be very unlikely.” They also do not have access to the case for an iPhone 6S Plus, so it’s possible this feature might work its way onto the bigger model. It is also expected that the iPhone 6S camera will be 12 megapixels.

iPhone 6S Memory And Other Features

Externally, the leaked iPhone 6S photos also confirms that we will not be seeing front-facing stereo speakers, a USB 3.1 Typc C connector, or any other major new buttons. Internally, the mounting points for the mainboard are completely different from the iPhone 6. It is expected that the iPhone 6S memory size will be bumped to 2GB of RAM, but it is the introduction of the Qualcomm MDM9635M chip that should make the biggest improvement.

Currently, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are limited to 150Mbps on LTE networks. The MDM9635M was introduced in 2013 but did not go intro production until 2014. So if the rumors are true, the iPhone 6S network speed should be capable of 300Mbps.

iPhone 6S Release Date

The latest iPhone 6S rumors suggest the new iPhone should come out in the fall of 2015. No one knows the day for certain, but it is expected to coincide with the launch date of the Apple iOS 9 operating system.
