It seems Lea Michele is the subject of a new book.
Former Glee star Naya Rivera is writing a new book entitled Sorry Not Sorry : Dreams, Mistakes And Growing Up, and it’s not as innocuous as it might appear at first glance. According to Ms. Rivera, the book will chronicle the feud that existed (and presumably still exists) between herself and Glee co-star Lea Michele.
Rivera’s critics point out that it is much easier to spill set secrets now that Glee is over and she won’t have to face Ms. Michele face to face. Writing the book so long after the series has ended may even encourage Naya to embellish the truth for the added incentive of driving up book sales.
“They had a major altercation,” one source reports. “Naya isn’t holding back.”
Multiple sources reported that Lea and Naya bickered frequently on the Glee set, making public the feud that has prompted Rivera’s tell-all book.
“They’re always icy to each other,” one Glee source told Us Weekly of the rivalry between Lea and Rivera. “Naya is jealous that Lea is the show’s main star… There is a lot of sighing and eye-rolling between them.”
Last year, Naya made headlines when she publicly ridiculed Ms. Michele’s boyfriend, Matthew Paetz , asserting that he had been working as a male escort.
“The feud between the two is still fresh and Naya is aware of the guy that Lea is dating – and what he has been involved in – and she thinks that its hilarious that Lea is in this situation,” a source reported at the time of the incident.
As Glee reached the last episodes of its final season, claims surfaced that Naya had gone to producers of the show with complaints about Lea Michele’s behavior, but other sources connected with the show denied that Rivera had done as the rumors suggested.
The man in charge of Glee was either ignorant of the feud or perhaps hoping to smooth the situation. Ryan Murphy came forward to deny that there were any problems between Naya Rivera and Lea Michele.
“I always marvel at the things that become headline news that most of the time are completely fabricated,” Murphy said in an interview . “I don’t think there is a story between Naya and Lea. Naya’s coming back next year, Lea’s coming back next year – anybody ever in that cast has an open invitation to come back and finish the character they so beautifully started.”
There’s no word on when the book will be available.
