Cloaked UFO Or Lenticular Cloud? Circular Cloud Over Texas Appears, Disappears Before Witness’ Eyes In Seconds.
A UFO sighting reported to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) and filed by the group as Case Number 66326, includes photos of what appear to be a lenticular cloud, but which online UFO enthusiasts are pushing as evidence of existence of “cloaked” UFOs.
The anonymous witness claims that he photographed the strange looking cloud over Channelview, Texas, on May 10, 2015.
According to the witness, “It looked like a cloud at first, but its appearance was circular and disappeared before my eyes.”
Convinced that he had witnessed an unusual phenomenon in nature, the witness uploaded the image and a report to the MUFON website. The photos, which may be viewed in the MUFON archives here and here, are shown below.
The witness believes that what he saw was not an ordinary cloud but a “cloaked UFO,” that is, a UFO using the form of a cloud to hide itself so that it can travel across the skies unseen by humans.
The witnesses’ conviction that the cloud was a UFO stems from the manner in which it appeared and disappeared in a matter of seconds.
“It seems unlikely that such a massive cloud appears and disappears within a few seconds, except if it is true that UFOs use clouds to hide themselves in order to travel unseen above Earth’s surface.”
UFO enthusiasts have often alleged that alien flying saucer UFOs disguise as lenticular clouds. But meteorologists insist that lenticular clouds are natural weather phenomena that do not need to be linked with UFOs.
According to meteorologists, lenticular clouds are formed when moisture driven by strong winds encounters a topographic barrier, such as a mountain, that forces it to condense into clouds. More rarely, they could be formed in plains when strong winds set up a cold front that acts as a form of barrier against moisture-laden air.
Although scientists and skeptics have often tried to debunk claimed sightings of “cloaked” lenticular cloud UFOs by arguing that most alleged sightings are mistaken, the belief that some UFOs “cloak” as lenticular clouds continues to the held widely in the UFO community.
“If an ET craft wanted to hide from people, why would it take a shape that looks like what most people would regard as a ‘UFO shape?’ Why not ‘cloak’ as more common objects that would be less likely to draw attention to themselves?”
UFOs, according to believers, disguise in other ways besides lenticular clouds. Some reportedly appear in the night sky disguised as stars or planets. Such UFOs are detected when they “de-cloak” accidentally, or do something unusual, such as move in a manner that reveals they are not normal stars or planets.
The Inquisitr recently reported sightings of “UFO-shaped” lenticular clouds over Texas.
Photos of the strange clouds over Robertson and Leon Counties in eastern Texas were posted online on May 25 following severe weather in Texas and neighboring Oklahoma.
The sightings sparked UFO and HAARP weather manipulation conspiracy theories.
However, some conspiracy theorists believe that lenticular clouds, such as what appeared over Texas, are caused by weather manipulation experiments being conducted secretly by government agencies, such as under the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) and NORAD.
