‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ Production Delayed
The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 will not begin this summer as previously expected. Although production on the show would have typically began by now, a new report claims filming has been delayed because of the show’s currently incarcerated star, Teresa Giudice.
On June 10, a source revealed the following to Radar Online.
“None of the cast members of RHONJ have signed contracts for next season. But there isn’t anything to be concerned about because filming has been pushed from the summer and won’t be beginning until late September, early October… Without Teresa there just isn’t a lot going on with the women. With her on board, cameras would film Joe’s final days with the family as he prepares to begin his 41 month prison sentence.”
Giudice, who has starred on the New Jersey-based reality series since the show began, turned herself in to serve a 15-month prison term in January, and won’t be released until December. As she awaits her release, she has reportedly been doing what she can to ensure her return to the series upon her release.
“Teresa hasn’t signed a formal contract yet, but it’s only a matter of time.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Giudice’s role on The Real Housewives of New Jersey is a key part of her ability to pay off her debt to the government. Earlier this week, a source spoke to Radar Online.
“Teresa is looking forward to getting out, obviously. Knowing there are creditors waiting to collect the outstanding $13.5 million debt, she is already trying to line up jobs now. Since the biggest paycheck would come from the Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa wants to go back to the show. Filming would just be concluding in December when Teresa is released, and would be the perfect teaser for the next season.”
Giudice’s release from incarceration would certainly make for a dramatic moment on the show, as well as serve as a continuation of what fans saw when she was last featured on the show. At the end of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6, Giudice and her husband appeared in a New Jersey court, where they were both given jail time. Weeks later, they appeared on Andy Cohen’s late night show, Watch What Happens Live, where they spoke candidly about their prison fears.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 has yet to be officially confirmed by the network.
