Gretchen Rossi Gives Instagram Update On Her Relationship With Slade After Calling Off Wedding

Gretchen Rossi’s wedding date of May 23 may have come and went with no ceremony, but when it comes to the former Real Housewives of Orange County star’s relationship with her longtime love, Slade Smiley, everything is A-okay!

On June 3, Gretchen Rossi shared a photo of herself and Smiley on a date, along with the following caption.

“Despite your busy schedules always make time for date night to reconnect and laugh together. #maketimeforeachother #connect #laugh #blessed.”

Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley starred on The Real Housewives of Orange County for years, and shared a lot of their relationship with fans — even their ups and downs. After dating for a number of years, Gretchen Rossi and Smiley began to discuss their future during an early season of the show, but unfortunately, at the time, they were on two completely different pages. While Gretchen Rossi preferred to have a baby with Smiley prior to tying the knot, Smiley wanted to get married before starting a family. Eventually, however, the two became engaged on the eighth season.

Still, their journey towards marriage hasn’t been without a few road blocks. In fact, they have set a couple of dates, but failed to follow through.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Gretchen Rossi acknowledged her failure to wed during an interview earlier this year. Speaking to Us Weekly, the reality-star-turned-designer explained why she and Smiley keep putting off their wedding.

“We keep changing the date like 28 times. It’s so bad … Every single time we start planning and thinking that we’re going to make it happen, something comes up or somebody can’t make it in the family or just something … It’s so funny because at this point, I’m like, screw it. We’re just going to like go elope. Because like every time we have a plan or have something, it always is like getting messed up.”

Also during the interview, Gretchen Rossi revealed why she and Smiley’s relationship works.

“[We] sit out back by the fireplace and have a glass of wine and probably watch a movie. We just love being together. We can literally be watching paint dry, and if we’re together, it’s fun. The bottom line is, that we’re just best friends, so we just want to be together all the time, and we’re lucky that we have that.”

Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley have yet to set a new date for their wedding.
