Andy Cohen Still Laughing About Kim Zolciak ‘RHOA’ Reunion Moment

Kim Zolciak hasn’t been a part of the Real Housewives world for a while now, but Andy Cohen still finds what she said as one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta years ago to be most hilarious thing to have ever happened across all of the shows in the franchise. On Tuesday night’s Watch What Happens Live, Andy was asked by The Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel what his favorite Housewives moment of all time is. Andy responded that his favorite moment was when Kim, during the Season 1 reunion show, pretty much admitted that she lied about having had cancer.

Andy loved that moment with Kim because it represents all of the ridiculousness that one expects from Real Housewives.

“You know what, it was the moment, it’s just that it’s an absurd moment and it defines the entire operation to me okay? It was the Season 1 Atlanta reunion when I asked Kim Zolciak about her having cancer. And she went into this cockamamie story… about sitting in the parking lot of a Chili’s waiting for test results and it turns out she didn’t have cancer. And I was like, ‘Well did you have it?’ And she was like, ‘No I did not.’ So it was layers coming off… it was just so absurd that I think it kind of just told me, okay this is the Ramona [Singer] coaster, as you put it, that I’m now on.”

During her time as an Atlanta housewife, Kim explained that she wore wigs all the time because of cancer, a claim that some of the other housewives doubted. At the reunion show, when Andy asked Kim whether she actually had cancer, Kim tearfully said that she lost 25 pounds, her hair was falling out, and that she was told by doctors that they were 90 percent sure she had cancer.

Co-star NeNe Leakes rolled her eyes at Kim’s story. When Andy sympathetically asked Kim if she was now cancer-free, Kim recounted the moment when she was sitting at Chili’s waiting to hear the test results, which came back negative for cancer but revealed that she had some other health issues. “So you didn’t have cancer?” asked a confused Andy, to which Kim replied, “No I did not, thank God.”

While NeNe and Kim battled it out over wigs during their time together on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, fans may see them sharing wigs on their upcoming spin-off show. The two will soon be filming NeNe and Kim: The Road to Riches. In an interview with E! News in late March, NeNe and Kim said that they were confident they weren’t going to fight with one another while filming their spin-off show. Instead of Real Housewives-style drama, both said that viewers will see a lot of silly fun.

“[NeNe:] I’m sure Kim and I will die. Like, Kim’s going to want to walk down the stairs and I’m going to want to take the elevator. [Kim:] And she’s going to want to wear my wig and I’m going to want to wear hers.”

Whether NeNe Leakes will continue on with The Real Housewives of Atlanta after filming her spin-off show with Kim Zolciak, who has another established spin-off show with Bravo, Don’t Be Tardy, is not clear. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, NeNe has said that she can’t see herself returning to Real Housewives for Season 8 if the cast remains the same.
