WWE News: Major Talk Of Turning WWE Superstar Roman Reigns Heel By ‘Elimination Chamber’
WWE Superstar Roman Reigns was pushed down our throats for some time, but ever since WrestleMania 31 ended….Roman Reigns was pushed back a bit. He was thrown into rivalries with Big Show and now Kane is on deck. The problem in the end is that, while Reigns does have talent he still needs to develop. WWE realized this in the end, which is why Seth Rollins took the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania and Reigns didn’t.
There has been a lot of take regarding what to do with Roman Reigns. WWE doesn’t want to push him too far down and force him into mid-card hell, but they also don’t want to put him into the main event scene too much. So what to do with Reigns has been a pressing matter. Now WWE may have figured out what to do with the former Shield member. Turn him heel.
According to Cageside Seats, there has been a lot of talk lately regarding the idea of turning Roman Reigns heel at the Elimination Chamber PPV. This PPV is set to take place on Sunday where Reigns currently does not have a lot going on. The idea is that he’d turn and then join The Authority. There is a thought that if he does turn, that does not mean he would join The Authority, but that has been discussed.
What makes this work in some aspects is that WWE has been hyping up the friendship between Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns a lot as of late. WWE normally doesn’t just do this. Everyone knows that Reigns and Ambrose are friends. We can go back to The Shield to know this. Reigns and Ambrose have teamed up a lot and WWE has exploited the friendship in a major way.
So what better way to turn Reigns than to have him come out to get involved in the Seth Rollins/Dean Ambrose match at Elimination Chamber?
Many would assume Reigns would come out to help Ambrose when The Authority got involved only for Reigns to turn on Ambrose and cost him the WWE World Heavyweight Title. This would help Rollins out, as it would allow him to yet again retain without actually beating his opponent. So heelish that is. Plus, it throws Reigns into a position where he can do far more. As a heel, Reigns is far more dangerous and a lot more interesting as a character.
A heel turn may end up saving his career and catapult him into the main event scene by force. Fans do not want Reigns to be the next John Cena, especially with Cena still on the roster. So in order to help the Roman Reigns character work, they have to give his character some sort of jolt. The random rivalries with Kane and Big Show are certainly not helping. A rivalry with Dean Ambrose as well as other top babyfaces that can work him well would certainly work for Reigns in the end. WWE is apparently working on a big surprise at the Elimination Chamber PPV….could this be it?
