Socialists.com and Communists.com Websites Now Redirect To President Obama Website

A jokester on Monday got a hold of socialists.com and communists.com and redirected both websites to the official website of President Barack Obama.

As expected the most uneducated and ignorant of users quickly took to Twitter to write:

“Not surprised!” while another user called it “Creepy” and then tweeted to @rushlimbaugh:

“Proof Obama is a communist.”

While it is not surprising that that someone would resort to such pranks, the sad truth is there are enough people who will believe the message and spread further laughable “proof” that President Obama is a communist bent on destroying the country.

In the meantime true socialists can access the groups official website at socialists.net. That website calls itself “the home of Marxism-De Leonism” and the official site for the Socialist Labor Party of America.

Communists in the meantime might want to give Communists.org a try for all of their own needs.

In what might be the funniest observation about the Communist.com redirect Josh Barro of Forbes notes that a true communist “would use a .org domain.”

Then again if someone was trying to access the socialist.com or communists.com websites they might actually be happy to see Barack Obama’s name in some way attached to those pages.

Someone could easily pull the same type of prank on Mitt Romney but I doubt Forbes.com, Bloomberg.com or Kiplinger.com is going to give up their big money names for a simple redirect.
