Google Nexus Rumors: Nexus 5 Announcement This Month?
Rumors about Google Nexus devices spread every year, and 2015 is no different. The second generation of the Nexus 5 is expected this year, and some say that it will come at the end of this month. There are also rumors that there will be two versions of the phone, made by two different companies.
It can be difficult to know whether rumors are true. In 2013, the number of Google Nexus 10 rumors that spread led to many waiting for Black Friday and Christmas Eve to see if the second generation tablet would be released; and were then disappointed when nothing happened. However, some of the 2014 rumors did turn out to be right, like the Nexus 6 at the end of last year.
International Business Times has shared that many people wonder whether to get the Nexus 6 device or wait for this rumored new one. There are pros and cons to both devices, but it seems that last year’s phablet will still be superior when it comes to the size of the device.
Even if TechAeris is right about the larger 5.7-inch display, Google’s current flagship phone has a 6-inch display. Those that want a phablet for their work and lifestyle will find the larger screen much more beneficial.
However, not everyone needs something so big. That is where the Nexus 5 is currently useful. It is just the right size to make phone calls and text, while using various Android apps. The second generation looks like it will have a 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch display option. Recent rumors indicate that LG is considering making the smaller version, but the larger one will be made by Huawei. Neither companies have confirmed any of these rumors.
There are other specification updates that will possibly be released. A faster battery charging capability with wireless charging are expected, along with a longer battery life. Some of the Google Nexus rumors even include that a microSD slot and removable battery will be included, but many phone experts do not expect either of them.
Google remains quiet on its updates, and rarely confirms suspicions. This is likely to happen this time, also some expect to hear an announcement about the Nexus 5 this month; with the unveiling expected at the Google I/O Conference during May 28 and 29. Android “M” is also expected to be announced at this conference, and is the most likely Google Nexus rumor to be true.
