Glee to Pay Tribute to Whitney Houston

Glee, the hit fox show known to dedicate entire episodes to specific artists, is planning on doing a dedication to Whitney Houston in their next upcoming episode. According to E! Online, Glee is preparing to offer 8 of Whitney’s hit songs in their tribute.

Glee has already aired dedications to Madonna, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga. E! Online is also reporting that this dedication will be different as it will directly affect the story line. The seniors are having a tough go at accepting that they will be graduating soon and will have ot say goodbye to their friends. They will use Whitney’s music to come to grips.

Glee’s Lea Michele tweeted vaguely about an upcoming tribute.

Glee’s Amber Riley has gotten very emotional about this episode. The day after Houston died Riley said at the Grammys,

“Whitney’s music meant so very much to me. I was very very choked up when I heard about her passing. I just met her this past Thursday. I’ve grown up listening to her voice ringing throughout our household. I’m so speechless. I can’t believe that she passed.”

After it was revealed that Whitney Houston had died, “Glee” music supervisor P.J. Bloom he messaged “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy about doing a tribute, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He said,

“As soon as the news hit, I texted Ryan and said, ‘We should do something. If we don’t celebrate her in one complete episode, I’m sure we’ll continue to acknowledge her music in the show.”
