According to a recent report by Radar Online, Jessa Duggar appears to be pregnant in a photo that was posted on the Duggar Family News: Life is Not All Pickles and Hairspray Facebook page. Jessa isn’t rocking a visible baby bump in the picture, but it looks like she and Ben Seewald are posing for a pregnancy announcement photo shoot — they both have their hands on Jessa Blessa’s belly.
However, things aren’t always what they appear to be. One Pickles and Hairspray commenter pointed out that the Facebook photo appears to be a screenshot from a People video. Jessa Duggar might not be pregnant just yet, but there’s a reason fans think that the 19 Kids and Counting star is going to make a pregnancy announcement soon — Jessa can blame her older sister Jill for all the gossip about the status of her womb. According to E! News, Jill Duggar announced that she was pregnant just two months after walking down the aisle. It’s been well over four months since Jessa and Ben Seewald tied the knot, so some 19 Kids and Counting fans are probably surprised that the couple hasn’t shared any baby news yet.
Jessa and Ben have made it very clear that they definitely want to start a family, and they’ve even looked into adoption. During an interview with People, Jessa said that she and Ben don’t just see adoption as a backup plan if they’re unable to conceive — they want to adopt no matter what.
“We hope to adopt a lot of kids. If God blesses us with biological kids of our own, it’s not going to quench our desire to adopt,” Jessa Duggar revealed.
However, as the Inquistir previously reported, Jessa and Ben discovered that most agencies won’t allow couples to adopt unless they’ve been married for two years. This means that the couple will have to expand their family the ol’ fashioned way if they want to have kids in the near future.
It sounds like Jessa Duggar is pretty eager to start a family, so she and Ben Seewald might not wait for two years before having kids. However, it’s unknown whether Jessa is actively trying to get pregnant. There’s even a possibility that she and Ben are taking steps to prevent pregnancy while they take a little time to get settled. However, it’s highly unlikely that a Duggar is taking birth control pills.
