Three Elderly Men Wearing Tennis Skirts Caught Having Sex in Public Park
This is one of those stories you just couldn’t make up if you tried. A family was shocked on encountering three elderly men, in their 70s or 80s, “engaged in sexual activity” in a public area of Desborough Island in England. The men were apparently wearing women’s tennis skirts.
What should have been a pleasant Sunday walk with his three children aged four, five and seven, turned into a “disgusting state of affairs” for Dean Smallhatch.

The family was apparently walking on a path leading off Walton Lane at 2:30 p.m. when suddenly they came across the shocking scene.
“Out in front of us, the path opened up and three elderly men, in their 70s to 80s, were dressed in female clothing, namely tennis skirts, and they were engaging in sexual activity.”
In a state of shock and upset, Smallhatch immediately took his children back to the car. However, at this point he received yet another shock. Tucked under his windscreen wipers was a handwritten note, which apparently contained an offer Smallhatch would not want to take up, along with the URL to a website.

To add insult to injury, so to speak, as Smallhatch drove his children away he spotted yet another man, totally naked, walking along Walton Lane. He explained to the Richmond and Twickenham Times how upset his children were by the incident.
“My children have been very upset by this and I am now very concerned.
“These areas are public and there are lots of women and families who would be very upset by this blatant and grossly offensive behavior.”
On later checking the URL on the handwritten note, Smallhatch discovered it led to a gay cruising website. On that website, Desborough Island was apparently listed as a popular “hook-up point.”
When searching further on the Internet, it seems Desborough Island actually comes up on several websites as a popular location to meet other men looking for outdoor sexual encounters.
According to Smallhatch, the local council should immediately seal off the area or possibly cut down the bushes in an effort to prevent further incidents of this nature.
However, when asked, Elmbridge Council denied receiving any complaints about inappropriate behavior in the area over the last six months. The Trust24 reports Surrey Police do apparently carry out regular patrols of the area and a spokesman mentioned these.
“Officers from the Elmbridge safer neighborhood team carry out regular patrols of the Desborough Island area and do so with the community’s concerns regarding indecent incidents in mind.
“All reports of criminal behavior are taken seriously and will be dealt with robustly, however any action taken by officers must be proportionate and within the confines of the law.
“The force is fully aware that sexual activity in public can cause offense to those who unwillingly witness it.”
Smallhatch will probably be hesitant to take his family on a weekend stroll in the Desborough Island area for a while. Apparently this kind of incident was discussed back in 2006 at a Weybridge Police Community Partnership Group, but it seems nothing was done at the time to halt these actions.
