Touching Video: NASCAR’s Brian Scott’s Wedding Vows To His Bride’s 3-Year-Old Daughter
A video that was made last January has made a comeback on YouTube with hundreds of thousands of views. What kind of video could come back with such fierce popularity? One that tugs at your very heart strings, which is exactly what Brian Scott’s video from his wedding last January has done to all who’ve watched.
NASCAR’s Brian Scott married the girl of his dreams, Whitney Kay, in January, 2014, according to Huffington Post. It was a touching ceremony in McCall, Idaho. As the snow covered the ground, the bride and groom found warmth in the love they have for each other.
Scott and his bride had written their own vows to each other, yet Scott went a step further and wrote a personal set of vows specifically for his bride’s 3-year-old daughter, Brielle. According to Today, Scott knelt down so that he could look Brielle directly in her beautiful eyes. And as she looked at him admiringly, Scott began vowing to Brielle that he would take care of her for the rest of her life.
Scott revealed to Huffington Post on Wednesday how he felt about the video resurfacing and how he actually felt on his wedding day as he made those vows.
“I always felt like my vows to my wife Whitney would maybe affect me more and I would get more choked up during those, making those promises to her. But I misread that one. It was really when I was reading my vows to Brielle that I got the most choked up. It really all just hits home in that moment — you’re there and dressed up and all the people around. You’re living in the moment. It affects you more than when you write it or plan for it or practice it. You get engulfed by it.”
Huffington Post revealed those beautiful vows which were also video recorded so that we can all share in that tender moment.
“I promise to always hold your hand and skip with you down the street and bring comfort to your life. I vow to make you say your prayers before you eat. I promise to read you stories at night and to always tuck you in real tight. I vow to show you how a man should treat a woman in my relationship with your mother. And above all else, I vow to protect you, care for you and love you forever.”
