If you’ve been holding out on picking up the Samsung Galaxy Nexus until the price drops down a bit, Amazon has dropped the price of Google’s flagship Android 4.0 phone to a mere $99.99.
Before you get too excited, there’s one little detail you need to keep in mind: the new low price only applies to new Verizon Wireless customers, and you’ll of course need a new contract to take advantage of the cheap Galaxy Nexus. If you already have an existing contract with Verizon, you’re out of luck.
The price drop on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes not even a month after Verizon started selling the phone for $299.99. Amazon’s price drop only applies to Verizon Wireless, however, so don’t expect any cheaper prices on the phone from other carriers just yet.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is, in case you forgot, the first and only phone to come with Google’s latest Android OS, Android 4.0–or Ice Cream Sandwich. The Galaxy Nexus packs a 1.2Ghz dual core processor, a front-facing 1.3 MP camera and a 5MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and a 4.65-inch 1280 x 720p HD Super AMOLED display.
