Madonna Should Have Seen ‘The Incredibles’ Before BRIT Awards
Singer Madonna should have watched The Incredibles before her performance at the BRIT Awards Wednesday night.
By doing so, Madonna would have been reminded of the witty and wise advice given by Edna Mode, the creative and clever superhero costume designer – “NO CAPES!”

That quote was used by Edna Mode during her conversation with Bob Parr (also known as “Mr. Incredible”) while they were discussing a new look for his new costume. Initially, Mr. Incredible thought that his new outfit should come with its own cape – a feature that his original costume did not have.

Edna Mode immediately shot down that idea by reminding him about the fatal wardrobe malfunctions that happened to other superheroes who wore capes on their costumes:
Thunderhead: His cape was snagged on a missile shortly before it fired
Stratogale: Her cape was snagged in a jet turbine.
Metaman: His cape was snagged in an express elevator.
Dynaguy: His cape was snagged on takeoff.
Splashdown: His cape was snagged in a vortex.
After providing Mr. Incredible with numerous examples of epic cape failures, Edna Mode silenced that part of the conversation by yelling, “NO CAPES!”
Perhaps Madonna now wishes that she would have listened to that advice during her BRIT Awards performance. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Madonna was yanked to the floor by her cape due to a wardrobe malfunction. Reports confirm that the yanking of her cape by one of her backup dancers was actually planned.
So, what happened? Why did it end so badly? Madonna was not supposed to still be wearing it when it was yanked. Madonna explained the cause of the wardrobe malfunction on her Twitter and Instagram pages Wednesday.
Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up!… https://t.co/zrCAqweiLo — Madonna (@Madonna) February 25, 2015
Listening to the words of wisdom from Edna Mode probably would have prevented that malfunction from happening. Without the cape, headlines about Madonna’s performance would actually be about the performance– instead of the viral footage of her unexpected fall.
