Russell Wilson Mocked For ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Comment
NFL star Russell Wilson is not having a very good month.
First, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback was heavily criticized for the 4th quarter passing play which allowed the team to basically throw away the possibilities of winning the Super Bowl.
Now, it seems as if Russell Wilson is being heavily criticized through social media about a recent movie selection.
Russell apparently decided to see the erotic film Fifty Shades of Grey, during a late night screening Thursday. On his official Twitter page, Wilson expressed his gratitude for the screening and even said that the erotic film was a “great movie.”
Thanks for the early showing of #50ShadesOfGrey late last night.. #EmeraldCity Great movie.

Wilson’s good review of Fifty Shades of Grey must have rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, because it did not take for him to be attacked through Twitter because of it. Quite a few people mocked Russell Wilson for his decision to see the movie because of his professed strong religious beliefs and moral standards.
.@DangeRussWilson I’m more than a little confused, Russell. I thought you professed to be a Christian. And yes, I’m judgmental (John 7:24).

.@DangeRussWilson Don’t say you represent Christ, and the publicly endorse a moved filled with immorality and sexual violence.

Due to his decision to see Fifty Shades of Grey, Russell Wilson was even criticized for posting Bible verses in the past on his Twitter account.
@benjhaisch @DangeRussWilson Really? I’m honestly not sure how you can quote bible verses all the time and then say this is a good movie…

Wilson did not take very long to respond to the criticism. He posted a tweet Friday, implying that he saw the movie because it was filmed in a place that he calls home and that his choice to see it has nothing to do with his religious beliefs.
Saw a movie filmed in the town I call home. Provocative/disturbing no doubt but that does not make me less Faithful. Have a blessed day!

Along with the people who criticized Russell on Twitter, there were other people who supported Wilson in his decision to see it. Some even admitted that they were going to see the movie, too.
Perhaps to shift the spotlight away from his comments about Fifty Shades of Grey, Russell Wilson later tweeted about how the film Scarface is an “all time ultimate classic.”
