WWE News: Vince McMahon Changing Main Event Of ‘WrestleMania 31,’ Daniel Bryan Involved?
Since the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, the WWE Universe has continued to cry out for change. They don’t like that Roman Reigns won the Rumble match, which led to a guaranteed match at WrestleMania 31 against Brock Lesnar. After the WWE fans “hijacked” the Royal Rumble match after Daniel Bryan was eliminated, the WWE listened.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Daniel Bryan wrestled Seth Rollins for a chance to headline WWE Fast Lane. Bryan defeated Rollins and is headed to Fast Lane to face Roman Reigns. The two will wrestle and the winner will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.
For the last month, it’s been rumored that Reigns will go on to WrestleMania 31. He’s the guy to replace John Cena on top of the WWE totem pole. WWE fans are also under the assumption that Vince McMahon and Triple H don’t listen to the WWE fans. That assumption is about to change. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a private meeting was held today to make a huge change to the WrestleMania 31 main event.
“As most of you know by now, WWE had planned for Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler for ‘WrestleMania.’ Those plans are out and Bryan will be inserted into the main event of ‘WrestleMania.’ Vince McMahon was against doing a three way just two weeks ago but he changed his mind. The feeling at the time was that Vince felt that since they did the three-way last year that they didn’t want to go to the well again.
“Right now the plan for ‘WrestleMania 31’ is for Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar.”
To also ensure that the WWE knows about the sour feelings towards Reigns, the WWE.com poll, which had the fans vote for who is more deserving of a main event shot at WrestleMania 31, ended with Bryan winning the vote 87 percent to 21 percent out of 31,676 votes.
If this stays true, then WrestleMania 31 will end up pleasing the WWE Universe, especially Bryan being inserted into the main event. Other matches on the card are expected to excite the fans as well. Randy Orton and Seth Rollins have the potential to steal the show, as does Triple H vs. Sting. Chris Jericho, WWE legend, recently discussed his dream WrestleMania 31 card. His main event would consist of Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, Daniel Bryan, and Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight title.
Another match that is rumored for the card is a multi-man ladder match for the NXT championship. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Hideo Itami, Finn Balor, and Adrian Neville are just a few names that stand out as potential candidates. The one thing WWE fans were concerned with was the main event. Now that it seems to be fixed, Daniel Bryan fans can rest easy.
