The New York Giants have defied the numbers and the statistics and the predictions and beaten the best team in the NFL, The Green Bay Packers. The Giants, who won the NFC East division with a fairly pathetic 9-7 season, rode the momentum of beating The Jets, then the Dallas Cowboys and then the Atlanta Falcons and now the Green Bay Packers to advance to the NFC Championship game.
Giants quarterback, Eli Manning, had three touchdown passes and threw for 330 yards in an impressive win. Wide Receiver,Hakeem Nicks, had a career game with 165 yards and two touchdown catches was in complete control of the game.
Al the credit can’t just be given to the New York Giants dominating performance, the Green Bay Packers team which only lost one game this entire season did not show up to play. The Packers made mistakes that just didn’t occur during the regular season. Fullback John Kuhn lost the first fumble of his career. Rodgers also lost a fumble for the first time this season. Ryan Grant fumbled for only the second time this season.
The New York Giants now advance to take on the San Francisco 49ers in San Francisco next week to compete for a spot in the Super Bowl.
The San Francisco 49ers finished as the second best team in the league and have already beaten the Giants once this season. The Giants are riding some serious momentum into the game.
Interestingly enough, should New England and New York win next week, the teams will be set up for a rematch of the historic Super Bowl played between the two of them in 2008. The Giants broke the Patriots chance for a perfect season by beating them in the Super Bowl.
