Apple Watch Release Date Nears As iPhone 6 Sales Turn Stratospheric
The Apple Watch has finally received a more specific release date. PC Pro quotes Tim Cook in confirming that Apple‘s new watch will be released in April.
“Development for Apple Watch is right on schedule and we expect to begin shipping in April. The creativity and software innovation going on around Apple Watch is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait for our customers to experience them.”
Meanwhile, Apple will release a special 18-karot gold edition of the watch. According to Gizmodo, Apple Store retail locations may be turn into something like a jewelry store with safes to guard the gold watches.
“The safes will likely be used to carry both to-be-sold inventory as well as to store demo units from the show floor overnight. The custom-designed safes will be outfitted with Apple Watch MagSafe chargers in order to keep the demo units charged up and ready to go for the next day of business. Apple has already begun installing the safes in some stores.”
There still isn’t proof that consumers really want an Apple Watch, but Apple’s marketing is so incredible that they can convince people they need an iToothbrush. Rumors that Apple has lost their touch over the past couple years have been proven completely false. Reuters reports on tremendous sales of the iPhone 6.
“Apple Inc. quarterly results smashed Wall Street expectations with record sales of big-screen iPhones in the holiday shopping season and a 70 percent rise in China sales, powering the company to the largest profit in corporate history. The company sold 74.5 million iPhones in its fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 27, while many analysts had expected fewer than 70 million. Revenue rose to $74.6 billion from $57.6 billion a year earlier.”
This is good news for Apple and more than makes up for the sluggish sales of the iPad Air and iPad Mini, which are thought to have been replaced by the iPhone 6 Plus. However, Apple is responding by releasing a larger iPad Pro. According to Tech Cheat Sheet, the updated iPad could have a very special addition.
“In what might have been the biggest Apple rumor to emerge this week, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that a long-rumored 12.9-inch iPad that is expected to debut this year will be likely be released alongside a stylus. Kuo has a reputation for being one of the most accurate analysts when it comes to the company’s future products.”
