Adam Lambert: Celebrates His Birthday And Announces Name Of New Album

Queen front-man and American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert celebrates his birthday today and, in celebration, the 33-year-old star gave his fans a present by taking to social media platform Twitter to make a couple of big announcements. Adam is currently on the European leg of his world tour with classic rock band Queen, and is celebrating his birthday with a show in Cologne, Germany.

MTV News reports that Adam chose his birthday to give his fans, known as “Glamberts,” the big news that his third album will be titled Original High and that the first single will be released in April.

Adam began the day by thanking his fans for their birthday wishes before teasing them to stay tuned for a big announcement.

Adam was clearly in a mischievous mood when he came back a few minutes later telling fans to expect a big announcement at around 10 a.m. eastern time.

Later in the day, Adam once again took to Twitter to announce that his album will be titled Original High and he attached a really nice photograph of himself looking mean, moody, and thoughtful, dressed in a red and black sweater, skinny jeans, and black rhinestone studded boots with a heel. Adam also announced that the photographer is Freddy Main and he did a great job with a photograph that really captures Lambert’s flamboyance and smoldering good looks.

Lambert did say that the photograph is not the cover for the new album, but it is a new shot. Billboard reported that Adam’s new album is to be released on Warner Bros. and is produced by Max Martin and Shellback, who worked on his smash debut album, For Your Entertainment. The Original High is expected to be released this summer.

Adam had previously told Billboard that he thinks “people are going to be really surprised, the album feels like a new era for me – emotionally, lyrically, sonically. It feels fresh, it feels new. It’s still me. It’s still stuff that fans know and love but it’s a new chapter 100 percent.”

Adam Lambert and Queen are still on tour, and have a further 14 dates to play across continental Europe before they return to the U.K. for some final dates. The tour is due to end on February 27, though with the rave reviews Queen, and Adam Lambert in particular, are receiving, who would bet against more Queen shows being announced? There have been rumors of headline festival appearances in the U.K. over the summer months. As yet, Adam has not announced any solo tour dates to support the new album, but you can be sure that the “Glamberts” will be watching closely for announcements.

2015 looks set to be a massive year for Adam Lambert.
