Tiger Woods Set To Marry Lindsey Vonn On Valentine’s Day?
Is Tiger Woods getting ready to walk down the aisle for the second time? Not so fast.
According to E! Online, although some outlets are claiming that Woods and his girlfriend Lindsey Vonn are set for a Valentine’s Day wedding, sources say don’t believe the noise. According to the source, Tiger and Lindsey are not taking that next step, and it’s definitely not happening on Valentine’s Day.
Vonn, an Olympic skier, is busy on that day with a charity event scheduled for that night, and is also busy competing for the World Championships in Vail for that week, so we don’t see her saying “I do” just based on her schedule alone.
“She’s not running off to get married. She’s skiing!” said the insider.
Back in 2014, Vonn opened up about an accident that left her with a terrible injury. During rehab, it was her boyfriend Woods who helped her through the difficult time.
“He’s helped me stay patient through rehab. Golf is all about patience — one tournament is four days long, 18 holes a day. He helped me take it one day at a time.”
Despite getting help from her famous golfer beau, Vonn still finds the spotlight on their relationship somewhat difficult to deal with at times. The skier told E! Online at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner of the difficulty.
“It’s been tough. Having your life on display is never easy, but what I think connects us so well is sports and trying to be No. 1 in what we do. We have so much in common in that regard. We always come back to that. We always have roots. And no matter what anyone has to say around us, we know who we are and that’s all that matters.”
Back in 2013, the couple made it official on Facebook with photos, and a statement by Tiger.
“This season has been great so far and I’m happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that’s happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes.”
Prior to her relationship with Woods, Lindsey was married to her former coach, Thomas Vonn.
