New York Giants Clip Falcons Wings, Advance in Playoffs
The New York Giants crushed the Atlanta Falcons 24-2 in the Wild Card round of the NFC playoffs Sunday afternoon. The Falcons got into the playoffs as a wild card team while the Giants finished on top of the NFC East.
The game started out sloppy for the Giants with a penalty being called on the 7 yard line forcing the Giants into their own end zone for a safety making it 2-0 Atlanta. From that moment on the day got nothing but worse for Atlanta.
Quarterback Eli Manning, who is arguably having his best season yet, threw three touchdown passes. He threw a 72 yard heater to Hakeem Nicks, a 27 yard throw to Mario Manningham and a 4 yard throw to Hakeem Nicks.
While Manning was amazing on Offense the Giants defense never allowed Atlanta to even show up. The team was not able to score any point all afternoon.
The New York Giants advance to play the #1 seeded Green Bay Packers next week at Lambeau Field.
The last time these two teams met Green Bay got the better of New York with a 38-35 win in New York.
