Thief Steals Rare Coins Then Makes Stupid Decision
Several burglars in Oregon this week stole a rare coin collection worth thousands of dollars and then not realizing what they had poured the coin-collection in a counting machine. When all was said the done the stupid criminals ended up with just $450.
Speaking about the decision made by the criminals the victim Dan Johnson Sr. says:
“To not know the value of what they had taken, just to get pocket change for it. Makes me feel good he was a stupid person and didn’t realize what he had.”
That “stupid person” he’s referring to is his very own son Dan Johnson Jr.
After nearly 500 silver quarters could not be sorted the burglars took them to a bank, those coins are now being returned to Mr. Johnson.
Coinstar also allowed Johnson to pour over the coins inserted into the machine, however some have been elusive to find including coins from the early 20th century.
As for what Johnson planned to do with the coins? He says of the collection:
“I lost an inheritance that was meant to go forward for my children and grandchildren.”
Well apparently one of his kids couldn’t wait and took his part of the inheritance at a discounted rate with a criminal record attached.
One thing is for certain, this case proves once again that we are not lacking in the stupid criminal department in our country.
