Demi Lovato on Twitter: “God Just Keeps Throwing Crap My Way”
A series of Twitter remarks from former Disney star Demi Lovato has caused many to worry the teen queen might be going through another rough patch.
Lovato experienced some personal difficulties when her old show Sonny With a Chance was at the height of its popularity, and the actress and singer later revealed that she’d received treatment for both bipolar disorder as well as an eating disorder. Since her break from stardom and subsequent return, Lovato has been outspoken about being a better role model to girls, lambasting Disney recently for making an anorexia joke on one of their popular kids’ sitcoms.
While Demi seems to be happy and healthy, fans naturally worry that her issues will resurface- and a recent Twitter rant by the starlet has some concerned Lovato may be struggling again. The actress lamented some difficulties in a vague way on Twitter, saying:
“Sometimes it seems like God just keeps throwing crap my way and I get SO angry with him… But there’s never a doubt in my mind He’s gonna pull me through it all. I know you’re there God. But umm… Really dude? He never fails to show me He’s by my side though. Even in the tough times. #Godstuff”
Lovato added:
“I’m not very religious but I’m VERY spiritual and I DO believe in God. I’m not perfect or preaching! Just tweeting… ? ‘Just keep swimming….'”
It should be noted, however, that interspersed with her philosophical tweets, Lovato re-tweeted two fans’ comments that “God NEVER gives you more than you can handle The toughest times are the ones in which He is carrying you in His arms,” and that “Satan throws crap your way but God gets you through to make you a stronger/wiser person.”
