WWE News: When Dolph Ziggler Will Be Back From ‘Firing’ Storyline, New Authority Angle?
Many people were surprised that WWE decided to “fire” the bulk of John Cena’s WWE Survivor Series team storyline wise. Erick Rowan, Ryback, and Dolph Ziggler have all been on a major push. So removing them from television and live events does not seem like a smart “business” move.
You’d be right, which is why despite the loved off-time the three are getting for the last week, they are all set to be back with WWE very soon. WWE, of course, didn’t really fire any of them. I know, shocking, right? The entire concept was that The Authority would come back and take action not against John Cena, but his team. This would help turn the locker room against Cena, who was very supportive of him after the win at Survivor Series.
The entire plan was always to bring The Authority back for WrestleMania season, so they could help set up storylines. On top of this, both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are proven draws as The Authority. WWE RAW ratings were up a good bit from the previous week. The highest RAW was after The Authority were removed from power was hilariously the night after Survivor Series, which happened to still include the duo of Triple H and Stephanie. The show was also helped by the fact that many thought wrestling legend Sting could appear on the show.
When will Dolph Ziggler and the rest of team Cena come back? According to Daily Wrestling News, the plan is to have them part of the Royal Rumble match. This is set to tie into another storyline involving The Authority. Due to the fact that the three fired men cannot come back without help from management, someone else will have to bring them back in.
This is where we might see WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and potentially Sting. We could see the fired men back by this coming RAW. However, it all depends on how WWE wants to play the story. We’re going to have someone challenge The Authority from another side of management, due to them taking a power stance that cannot be stopped without another person stepping in.
The problem is, it is unsure how WWE wants to do it. So we do not know which players will be involved. However, rumors state that McMahon and Sting will be the two to challenge The Authority.
As for Dolph Ziggler, he is rumored to potentially win the Royal Rumble match. However, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns are also rumored to do so. The winner is expected to be someone that shows impressiveness in the next few weeks to WWE, according to backstage sources. Sadly, Ziggler has been impressive for months, but couldn’t do anything lately while on, basically, vacation.
This means the winner might end up being Dean Ambrose, who WWE has kept strong despite various losses as a main event jobber as of late. Dolph Ziggler still has a chance to impress, however, despite how well he has done in the last few months. It is said that his IC Title being stripped from him the way it was could be a clue as to what WWE could be planning for him. He could be the man who WWE taps to take down The Authority in some way, we will just have to wait and see. We do know is that WWE has big plans for The Showoff.
